Hospitaller Order of St. John of God

ICCEC Vienna 2019 will be hosted by the Austrian Province of the Hospitaller Order of St. John of God (short: “Hospitallers”, in German: “Barmherzige Brüder”). The Hospitallers were founded in 1539 in Granada, Spain, by Juan Ciudad and came to Austria in 1605. Today, the Hospitallers are a worldwide organization, providing care for physically sick, mentally impaired, elderly, homeless, and drug-dependent people in hospitals, rehabilitations centers, mobile services, hospices, nursing homes, and other care facilities. The Hospitallers in Austria have established an extensive ethics program whose director oversees ICCEC Vienna 2019. For further information see www.bbethik.at
